To make this shrimp kabab, you will need a skewer to hold the shrimp together. Metal or wood (bamboo) are fine, but I prefer reusable metal skewers. After use, it can be placed in the dishwasher for easy cleanup.

This amazing shrimp recipe can be made on your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan.
🧾Ingredients used

- shrimp: For best results use fresh raw shrimp. If your shrimp are frozen, you can use a fryer to quickly thaw them. This recipe uses jumbo shrimp, but medium shrimp will work as well.
- black pepper, Olive oilkosher salt: Use these spices to season soft shrimp before lightly grilling. Barbecue sauce is added on top of the grill so you only need a little. Feel free to use Old Bay seasoning or other spice mixes if you prefer.
- Keto Spicy BBQ Sauce: This sauce is so delicious you won’t believe it’s low sugar!
🔪 How to make this recipe
- If using wooden skewers, soak for 30 minutes before using. Skip this step if using metal skewers.
- Rinse the shrimp under running water and pat dry. Alternatively, you can put it on a colander to drain. Add 1 tablespoon of oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and mix well.
- Skewer the shrimp and space them apart. Add about 5 shrimp to each.
- It is best to put the shrimp in a “C” shape. This will prevent it from falling off the skewer.
- Place the shrimp skewers on the hot grill and coat both sides with the barbecue sauce. Grill shrimp for 6 to 8 minutes on one side or until shrimp is cooked through and no longer pink.
- Add spicy barbecue sauce if desired. The sauce is quite spicy, so only overdo it if you can stand it.
- Top with green onions or herbs of your choice. Serve and enjoy!

🥫 Storing and Reheating
This easy grilled shrimp recipe is best eaten within the day, and this recipe can be easily scaled up or down. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.

👩🍳 FAQ
Raw, fresh shrimp is best for this recipe, not frozen. If you use frozen shrimp, they may be too soft to skewer once thawed.
I use about 1.5 pounds of medium-sized shrimp, so if you use smaller or larger shrimp, you’ll need to adjust accordingly.
I also buy shrimp that have been peeled and deveined. It might be cheaper to just buy it as-is and strip it yourself, but I want to save as much time as possible.
I used prawns with the tails off this time, but you can leave the tails on if you prefer. Some people prefer to hold shrimp by the tail when eating. I like to throw it in my mouth!
For a perfect dinner in no time, brush fresh shrimp with olive oil, black pepper and salt. Thread onto your favorite skewer and brush both sides with a barbecue side. Grill on an outdoor grill set to medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes per side. Coat with sauce again and serve.
Yes you can! It’s the same until the shrimp is skewered.
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Line a baking sheet with foil paper and place the shrimp skewers on top.
3. Cook for 15 minutes or until done, flipping halfway through.
4. Brush with additional BBQ sauce.
