Rema Cracks The Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 With ‘Calm Down’

Rema can’t keep calm after her first career Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit with “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez.

Lemma, whose real name is Divine Iqboll, wrote on Instagram, “I know how hard you’ve worked to get your sound to this point, holding back tears. Thank God I’ve come this far.” commented. A photo of himself of her and a top 10 photo on the March 25th Hot 100 chart.

“Calm Down” was originally released on February 11, 2022 via Jonzing World, Mavin, SMG Music, Virgin and Interscope. This is Lemma’s second single from her debut studio album Rave & Roses, which peaked at number two on Billboard’s World Her Albums chart. The Gomez-backed remix arrived on her 25th August 2022, topping Global Excl. The US and US Afrobeats Songs have now held her No. 1 for 29 consecutive weeks, her longest chart-topping since her March 2022 release on Billboard and Afro Nation.

“I don’t do a lot of remixes. Most of the songs are either solos or features. I wanted a female voice in the song. The song was already going strong and I felt it needed someone to take it to the next level.” “From our discussions, plans, available contacts and friendships, Selena was the best bet,” the Afrorave artist said in a recent interview with Billboard. It’s not just the good news that my career is going well, it’s about how well my culture is flying, Afrobeats take it to the next level, this song is opening doors and bridges. Listeners want to know what more is coming from Nigeria, from Africa, and I am very happy.”
