On Monday, March 6, military officers raided the homes of some civilians in Ashaiman, inflicting various forms of atrocities.
A soldier was reportedly killed in the area, justifying his colleagues to take “revenge” by punishing the civilians they believed had committed the crime.
Soldiers attacked Ashaiman and mistreated residents in various ways for allegedly murdering a colleague.
The incident sparked public outrage on social media after a video went viral showing military brutality against residents of Ashaiman.
In a tweet addressing the issue, one of the region’s celebrities, Stonebwoy, called for an end to “violence and lawlessness” on both sides.

“It’s 9am in New York and I just woke up with the news of what’s happening in my beloved Ashaiman. , unequivocally condemns all acts of violence and lawlessness. May all those responsible be found and brought fully to face the law,” he tweeted.
