For caramel apples:
½ cup raisins or sultanas (or mixture of both)
2 large apples (either Granny Smith apples or Pink Lady apples), peeled and cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons salted butter
2 Tbs coconut sugar (or other dark brown sugar)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 Raisin bread (approximately 500 gms / 1 lb) – or cinnamon raisin bread
Four large free range eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1½ tsp vanilla extract (or essence)
1 Tbs coconut sugar (or other dark brown sugar)
3 tablespoons Orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau
2 cups Milk (whole milk or any percentage is OK)

½ cup walnuts or pecans, coarsely chopped (alternatively sliced almonds)
2 tablespoons melted salted butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
