Sista Afia Worried Over Lack Of Collaborations Among Female Artistes

Vocal gem Sista Afia has expressed concern over the lack of musical collaborations among Ghanaian female artists.

According to the award-winning musician, their male counterparts do a great job of featuring each other, and can also do multi-artist collaborations.

But this scenario is extremely rare among female artists, she said, prompting them to come together and band together to become a powerful force in the music industry.

Sista Afia said in an interview during her media tour that she has featured several female artists over the past few years and would like others to do the same.

“I can understand the challenges female musicians face when they want to pursue a particular course, especially if they are signed to a record label.

“Many things are often decided without our knowledge, but I think it’s time for us to have a say in how things are going.

“We need more collaboration between us to foster unity and make us a stronger force in the music industry,” she said.

Sista Afia added that she has always been eager to work with the likes of Becca, Akosua Agyapon, and Efia, so she could showcase the immense talent that female musicians have.

Sista Afia is currently promoting her new single ‘Carry Go’, which comes with some stunning visuals available on YouTube.
