Afia Shwar, who claimed to have blazed a new trail, has returned to Ghana after being placed under house arrest following a lawsuit with Wongtumi.
The comedian was not in the country when the court overturned the final judgment in her notorious insult case with Chairman Wongtumi.
Once she arrived in the country, she and her lawyer went straight to court and asked the judge to reconsider the harsh sentence imposed on her.
Afia Schwar was sentenced to pay Ghc 60,000 and serve 10 days in jail for making disparaging remarks to Chairman Wontumi on UTV about five months ago.
Afia Schwar believes that 10 days in prison cannot be served and should be replaced with a fine.
The court has agreed to consider her plea, so she will appear in court on December 17, 2023 to find out her fate.
