French Toast Bake – Immaculate Bites

French Toast Bake – Easy and delicious layers of cinnamon and French toast topped with crispy bread crumbs baked in the oven for the ultimate breakfast or brunch comfort food. You can make it the night before or bake it right away. Either way, it tastes great! 😋

Good old white bread works best for this recipe. I always use Texas Toast style bread. It also absorbs eggs well, resulting in a taller baked result. Of course, you can use regular bread as well.

Coquito is an optional ingredient in this recipe (you can also use heavy cream), but I highly recommend adding extra. That rich, creamy coconut rum drink makes for the most amazing French he’s toast. Best of all, you can assemble everything the night before. Then put it in the oven the next morning. Delicious and convenient! 🙌

French Toast Bake: The Perfect Breakfast for Large Families

recipe ingredients

What you need to make this delicious casserole
What you need to make syrup
  1. bread – This recipe requires a loaf of 14 oz bread. White bread is the best in my opinion, but you can substitute any bread you like.
  2. egg – Like stovetop French toast, this recipe calls for lots of eggs.
  3. dairy products – Soak the bread in coconut milk, milk, and coquito (or fresh cream) to make it moist after baking.
  4. sugar and spices – Adding cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract to white and brown sugar will make your kitchen smell better and your toast tastes even better.
  5. Ingredients for topping – Crumbly topping requires flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and butter. Hmmm!
  6. syrup – The crowning glory here is the boozy syrup. Add butter and vanilla extract, maple syrup, bourbon or rum, and a pinch of salt to create an out-of-this-world drizzle on your freshly baked French he toast.
