To freeze baked mince pies, remove from freezer, thaw, and reheat in medium oven, air fryer, or microwave until warm.

Mince pies made with phyllo pastry are not suitable for freezing.

A super easy and delicious Christmas mince pie with a hint of orange and a homemade cherry fruit mince filling. All made by hand.

350g cake flour cake flour

100 grams Granulated sugar

1 grated orange peel

225g cold salted butter, cut into cubes

25 Preheat oven to 180C/350 fan forced or 200C/400F conventional.

To make the pastry, mix flour, granulated sugar and lemon zest well.

Add the diced butter and mix it into the flour by hand to form a crumb.

Lightly spray a shallow 12-hole nonstick cupcake tin with baking spray. Alternatively, use shallow muffin tins. If you’re using regular muffin tins, don’t fill them to the top or make 10 large mince pies.

Pinch a small ball of dough and press it into the cupcake mold.

Place a dessert spoon of Christmas fruit mince in each case.

Crumble the remaining pastry with the remaining crumbled dough so that it covers all the fruit.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. The time it takes depends on your oven, but make sure the top is golden before removing.

Let cool in tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool further.

Lightly dust with icing or caster sugar and serve.

Store in an airtight container. These mince pies should be kept for at least a week if they can be stored longer.


Make smaller/shallower mince pies if desired. Simply extrude the dough to line up the molds and fill accordingly.
