Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND 2022) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from 25-27 November 2022 will feature world-famous performer Idris Elba.

As part of the CANEX WKND program, which includes panel discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses and live performances, Idris Elba will provide his extensive knowledge and insight into the international film industry.
With roots in Sierra Leone and Ghana, Elba is a shining example of how people of African descent can thrive in the global entertainment business.
He joins a roster of over 100 distinguished speakers from Africa and the Diaspora who have confirmed their attendance at Africa’s most popular creative meeting. They represent different creative departments.
In separate “When Giants Speak” fireside chats on Friday and Saturday, retired Ivory Coast professional footballer Didier Drogba and Nigerian author and speaker Chimamanda Goji Adichie will join the conversation.

The CANEX WKND, implemented by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in partnership with the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, is a key step in the implementation of the bank’s Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme, a multifaceted intervention. It aims to support and develop the rapidly expanding creative and cultural industries in Africa. According to Afreximbank, the African diaspora is an important part of his CANEX programme.
