Senegal is First Francophone Country to Host AFRIMA

The Government of Senegal has committed to host and host the 8th All Africa Music Awards AFRIMA (www.AFRIMA.org) Joint World Media Conference held at the Hotel King Fahd Royal Palace in Dakar, Senegal – Host country unveiling ceremony.

The awards ceremony will be held in Dakar, Senegal from January 12-15, 2023. As announced jointly by the AFRIMA International Commission, the African Union Commission and the Republic of Senegal, the previous date is brought forward by four weeks.

This also means that the voting deadline for candidates will be changed to January 13, 2023 at 23.00 (CAT). This is the first time that the main awards ceremony will be held in a French-speaking country.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Senegal’s Minister of Culture and Communications. Minister of Tourism and Air Travel, Special Advisor to the President of Senegal, Dr. Massamba Gay, and local and international media experts.
