Lunch at Indochine at Delaire Graff Estate

Last Sunday I enjoyed a lovely lunch at Indochina and Delea Graff Estate at Stellenbosch. I hadn’t been in a while, so it was nice to be back at Sample Chef Virgil Khan’s Indian-inspired menu, his second and last to the Silk Road series that celebrates the cuisine of a particular country.

The menu is a 3 course set menu and 4 courses at night. We were lucky enough to try the 4th course which was a shrimp dish with pink grapefruit. You can choose to pair the menus or not. Here you can sample wines from both the Delaire Graff Estate portfolio and other local wines.

The a la carte menu is accurate with delicious Asian flavors and ingredients.

Dining under the Swallows in Flight art installation by Lionel Smit and André Stead, with its iconic blue and copper décor, is always a treat. It was a chilly day so we were able to sit by the large fireplace. Not ready to say goodbye to winter.

After lunch, it’s always fun to stroll through the sculpture gardens filled with works by Dylan Lewis, Lionel and Anton Smit. The views are unbeatable from any property in the Cape Winelands. draw drop.
