The management of ASKOF Productions, organizers of the Ghana Outstanding Women’s Award (GOWA), warned that companies and individuals working with Dansoman-based photographer Baby Shot It do so at their own risk..
The alleged scammers have persuaded GOWA organizers to act as the official photographers for the 5th anniversary edition of the awards ceremony held at Accra’s Tang Palace Hotel on Saturday.
After the event, the organizers contacted a young photographer residing in Dansoman (Akoko Photo) for photos, but he refused to release the photos, on the condition that he would receive the full amount of the agreed fee. I mentioned on the phone that I would publish to Ghc 1,000 amount.
Feeling unsafe, the organizers transferred part of the C500 in mobile money, but the young photographer, who was expecting a baby, returned the cash to the organizers hours later.
After several phone calls which he declined, the organizers contacted his (Baby Shot It) pregnant wife and father, spoke with the photographer, and managed to send the agreed photos. , ironically, he responded with an insult to the organizers.
The organizer’s check suggests that was his modus operandi, defrauding Miss Galaxy and several other organizers three years ago.
On Wednesday night, he (Baby Shot It) instructed a neighbor whom the organizers had met earlier looking for the culprit to call Team GOWA and take a picture.
Ironically, the organizers made it to his residence, only to be told that the photos would be published on the condition that the organizers increase the amount to 1500 Ghc.
So the victim was able to contact the Dansoman Police Department. At the police station, a police officer (whose name was withheld) accompanied the organizers of the event to the photographer’s home, but he went into hiding when security forces arrived at his home. .
His actions are motivated by a popular Accra-based television station, which indicates that it is rolling out a similar awards program.
“You could say that this is a calculated ruse to deny our photos,” said Ahua Asantewa O. Aduonam.

“He is indeed a fraud and the public should beware of such a traitor.”
